Question 1   What is the maximum size I can build my ‘Granny Flat’?

Answer         The maximum size of the dwelling cannot exceed 100m2.

Question 2   Do you build the granny flat on site, or are they a kit home?

Answer         No, we are not a prefabricated/kit home builder, all our homes are
                        constructed on site, using qualified licensed tradespeople.

Question 3   Does the granny flat have to be separate from the house, or can it be
                        attached?

Answer         Your flat can be attached or detached from the main house, subject to
                        your relevant council.


Question 4    Do I have to choose one of your designs?

Answer          No you do not have to choose one of our designs, you can create your
                        own or if you like we can help you design one.

Question 5    We would like the flat to be wheelchair friendly. Can you help us with this?

Answer         Yes we certainly can. We can alter any design to be fully wheelchair
                        friendly.

Question 6    Do we have to do the council applications ourselves?

Answer           Lateral Homes takes care of all council applications.    

Question 7    How long does the construction process take?

Answer         Generally the construction process averages 14—16 weeks.
